Arborist in Monaco, Nelson
Monaco is a narrow peninsula pushing into Tasman Bay just south of the airport. Its waterfront sections take the sea breeze most summer afternoons, and some of its native trees are big enough to be listed.

What will it take in Monaco?
Three things that help Oliver plan a job here before he comes out.
- Waterfront section? Say whether the tree is on the seaward edge, and whether a vehicle can reach it from the road.
- Tree leaning with the wind? Send a side-on photo so the lean shows.
- Tītoki or karaka? Name it if you know it, or send a close photo of the leaves.
How the team does it
- Climbed and taken down in sections, each piece lowered on ropes, or felled in one where there’s room.
- Branches chipped on site, and the stump ground out if you want it gone.
- The work area cleaned up before the team leaves.
What Oliver needs for the quote
- A photo of the whole tree, with the house in shot
- Its height against the house
- What’s under or near it
- The way in: gate, side path or drive
- Your street
Trees and sections in Monaco
Monaco covers just 0.29 square kilometres on a thin peninsula west of central Stoke, with about 450 people in 228 homes. It came into Nelson City in 1958, and the 2000s are its commonest build decade, though the oldest homes go back to the 1900s.
Sea breezes build along this coast as the land warms, most often in summer. At Nelson’s weather station the average wind climbs from about 7 km/h at 6am to almost 20 km/h by mid-afternoon, and trees on exposed waterfront sections take that wind day after day.
The native trees here can be big. The city’s plan lists a heritage English oak, a heritage tītoki and three karaka at Monaco Village on Quiet Woman Way, another tītoki on Point Road, and a Canary Island palm at the start of Point Road.

Great job by Ollie removing a tree for us here in Nelson. Turned up on time, explained the plan clearly, and worked safely and carefully given how close the tree was to the house. Left the section completely clean afterwards too. Fair price and top communication throughout. Highly recommend for anyone needing tree work done right.
Tree work in Monaco
We used Ollie’s services to remove some big oak trees from our property as they were down a steep driveway that overhangs a road. He did an excellent job of removing them safely and in a timely manner. Will be recommending him to everyone we know in Nelson as he is quick, efficient and safe. Thank you Ollie!
Monaco questions
Something else? Call 0800 000 105 or send the tree through.
Do you work on waterfront sections in Monaco?
Yes. Say whether the tree is on the seaward edge and how a vehicle gets to it, and Oliver will plan the job when he comes out to quote.
Do you prune native trees as well as removing them?
Yes. Natives such as tītoki and karaka can be reduced or lifted off the house as well as removed. Some listed trees need the council’s approval first.
